The questions should be on the powerpoint and the article...

  1. Is genre pedagogy the best principle for ESL as it curtails every single aspect?

What level should genre instruction be taught? when should the begin to learn genre instruction? how advanced does their english have to be??

Is it important to always follow "sequences" in genre instruction?

Basically, what this article was explaining, that in the U.S.....L2's are growing rapidly, where it was 1 in 20, then 1 in 9 and now they are suspecting it will be 1 in 4. However, Spanish speakers achivements are alot lower than those of people from India or Asia.

Also, the article, although good, was just about alot of "theories" and "what if's" and "statistics" that really didnt have any answer to the solution.

If a student has limitations in regards to speaking, reading and writing english, how can you eliminate them being intimidated with so many different subjects and different types of classes that they face everyday?

So does the social-economic factor have alot almost everything to do with a student being able to not only learn english, but also be able to speak, read and write?

Is it better than for a student to do "transtional courses" in english before being fully integrated into an everyday english class?

The article is about formal schema writing and its effects on the content of an ESL student. How they are also looking at "constructivism" and how to build on that, while trying to implement schema writing at the same time.

How can you get an L2 to easier understnad and differentiate between schema theory with contrastive rhetoric standards?

How can you better implement "constructivism (already learnt) and schema (what they will learn) into a more specific but easier to understand lesson without confusing them?

So through targeting student population, and mixing schema theory, an L2 can learn English at a progressive rate within a year or so?
